We are looking for a part-time pastor for our English speaking interdenominational church community with a focus on international students and other internationals.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a part-time pastor for our vibrant church community in Wageningen.
Do you recognise yourself in the following profile:
Your heart beats faster when interacting with international students and other internationals, many of whom are in a phase of learning and also questioning. Many of them will be future leaders in their fields. As a teacher and preacher you know how to communicate biblical truths to them in word and deed. You are an enabler: “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Eph. 4:12). Relationships matter a lot to you, and you encourage and practice hospitality and mentoring. You are also a bridge builder in our very varied church community, interconnecting different groups within ICF.
As a Spirit-filled leader and inspirer you help promote and implement ICF’s vision & mission and give direction and coaching to the church in cooperation with the Church Council and the coordinators of our various ministries.
You are a university-trained theologian with an analytical mindset and pioneering and missional skills. You have demonstrable experience in equipping church leadership in a multicultural, international and interdenominational setting. You are team-oriented and an excellent communicator. You are willing to live in the Wageningen area.
What are your core tasks?
- Sharing the Christian message and life with a focus on international students and other internationals.
- Setting up a structure that creates potential for us to grow.
- Equipping and advising leadership.
- Preaching and teaching. Developing a preaching and teaching plan of Bible content and contemporary themes.
- Coaching preachers and teachers from among our members.
- Help shape the Sunday services and other ministries.
- Giving pastoral care and equipping others to do so.
- Pray for and with the church.
Who are we?
ICF Wageningen is an English language international church with the specific aim of offering hospitality and Christian community to international students and other internationals living for shorter or longer periods in Wageningen. Wageningen is a city with about 40,000 inhabitants from more than 100 nations. Central in this town is Wageningen University, which hosts – apart from Dutch nationals – about 5,000 internationals studying or working there.
Likewise, our church population is also very international and relatively young (predominant age group is 20-45): international students, temporarily staying internationals, migrant (mixed) families, refugees and Dutch nationals of many different denominational backgrounds.
We aim to be a missional community that focuses on helping international students and other internationals to become followers of Jesus Christ, to grow in discipleship and reaching out to others.
We function in a bottom-up fashion and encourage all our members to use and develop their gifts in contributing to various ministries and leadership. We aim to equip people so that they can use their experience at ICF to serve the Church, starting in Wageningen and often extending worldwide. We encourage Dutch and migrant members to share in this ministry to internationals.
ICF provides Sunday worship services (70-120 visitors), connect groups, discipleship courses, thematic workshops, ministries for young adults, teenagers and children and various other ministries.
ICF is an independent interdenominational church (legally: a foundation). It is part of the ICP network and participates in a network of Wageningen churches. We partner with Wageningen campus ministries, such as International Navigators and IFES.

Are you challenged and excited to be part of a church of many different nations and promoting internal and external connections? Then we would be very happy to receive your application!
